Asian Vegetarian

For religious, cultural or economic reasons, certain groups of people in Asian countries choose to be vegetarians. This fascinating array of wonderfully delicious vegetarian recipes can now be enjoyed by vegetarians as well as committed meat eaters alike. In this class, we will make:

  • Palak paneer (spinach curry with homemade fresh pressed cheese)

  • Stuffed potato & cauliflower paratha (served with fresh tomato and mint chutney)

  • The best lentil (dhall) curry

  • Nyonya style vegetable & tofu curry

  • Taro lobak (vegetarian rolls wrapped in beancurd skin)

  • Chinese-style “claypot” tofu with mushrooms and vegetables

  • Stuffed tofu pockets with stir-fried shredded cabbage

  • Tempe, tofu and potato stir-fry with sweet soy sauce
